Beware of PR1MA bogus agents
The public has been advised against being duped by bogus agents claiming they can help the public to apply for houses under the 1Malaysia Housing Programme (PR1MA), as it has never appointed agents to do do.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim said he received complaints from some members of the public who claimed they had to pay deposits to agents to handle applications under PR1MA.
“In certain cases, deposits of up to RM7,000 had been paid. I want to stress that the applications can only be done online and PR1MA has never appointed any agents to help manage applications.
“Anyone who has been cheated should lodge a police report quickly to enable action to be taken against the culprits,” he told a media conference at Parliament’s lobby Wednesday.
He said members of the public keen to apply for PR1MA could do so online or through PR1MA roadshows nationwide.
“After scrutinising the information and the qualifications of the applicants, PR1MA will carry out a voting process to decide who will qualify for the houses,” he added.
