First PR1MA Homes Project

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak announced that the 560 apartments in Putrajaya at Precinct 11 under the Program Perumahan 1Malaysia (PR1MA) is the first project and will be sold for RM120,000 per unit.

The apartments in Putrajaya will be developed by Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd and is the first site identified under Phase One of the PR1MA programme. The apartments, with a gross floor area (GFA) of between 815 and 1,006 sq ft, will be built on a 7.6 acre land site.

The price RM120,000 per unit was cheaper than the earlier price, which was set between RM150,000 and RM300,000.

The programme was introduced to help middle-income earners acquire their own houses, as they cannot afford high-cost houses and may not be qualified for the low-cost housing programme. The construction of apartments planned under the PR1MA programme will be developed between 2015 and 2016 as follows :

  • 2012 : 1317 units
  • 2013 : 1107 units
  • 2014 – 2016 : 5284 units

The government will allocate RM9 million to the developer as a facilitation fund to ensure that the houses can be offered to the public at the price set by the government. The Prime Minister stressed that houses built under the PR1MA programme are the social corporate responsibility of developers under the government’s Public Private Partnership initiative.
