25,500 PR1MA house in Johor
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today announced the building of 25,500 affordable housing units in the Iskandar Malaysia region, here, under the Perumahan Rakyat 1Malaysia (PR1MA) scheme.
Najib said the project, carried out in collaboration with PR1MA Berhad and five private housing development companies, would be completed within three years.
He said the market price of each unit was RM250,000, but through the public-private sector partnership in the form of funds from the government, the project could be expedited with the houses to be sold at below the market price.
“The original market price offered by the developer was RM250,000 but through facilitation by the government, the price would be 199,000 only.
“This is a big discount of RM51,000 or over 20 per cent through the contribution of funds from the government,” he said at the drawing of lots for the Nusantara PR1MA affordable housing units at Dewan Raya, Bandar Putra, here, today. – Bernama

PR1MA’s Affordable Homes In Nusantara Prima Project Oversubscribed By Six Times
Perumahan Rakyat 1Malaysia (PR1MA)‘s affordable homes in Nusantara Prima project has been oversubscribed by six times.
The 201 affordable homes, which will be built by private developer, Denia Development Sdn Bhd, is still open for application and those interested can register online at www.pr1ma.my, PR1MA said in a statement Tuesday.
Its Chief Executive Officer Datuk Mutalib Alias said they would stop accepting applications on Feb 8.
He said the balloting of homes would be conducted by PR1MA on Feb 12 and applicants would be invited to attend the event which would be graced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Nusantara Prima is a joint-venture between Denia Development as the developer and UEM Land Holdings Bhd as the landowner, while PR1MA lends support for the facilitation fund provided by Unit Kerjasama Awam Swasta and would manage the balloting process.
With a starting price of RM199,000 for an intermediate unit, the Nusantara Prima affordable homes were open for application on Dec 13, 2012.
The development offers two types of 4-room double-storey terrace homes measuring 18ft x 65ft offering a build-up area from 1,384 sq ft.
The development is targeted to be completed and ready in 2015.
To be eligible for an affordable home within Nusantara Prima, applicants must meet several key criteria including being a Malaysian citizen aged 21 years and above and have an individual or combined gross household income of between RM2,500 and RM7,500 a month to qualify.
Additionally, they need to work or live in Iskandar Malaysia, Johor Bahru, Pulai or Pontian, and should not own more than one property in Malaysia, other than a low-cost or low medium-cost property.

Perumahan Rakyat 1Malaysia (PR1MA) has opened online registration for their new PR1MA projects at Nusantara Prima, JB. will manage the balloting for the affordable houses to be developed by Denia Development Sdn Bhd in Bandar Nusajaya.
The Nusantara Prima project is a joint venture between UEM Land Holdings Bhd as the landowner and Denia Development as the developer. The PR1MA project at Nusantara Prima consists of 201 units of affordable homes situated on 16-acre of lands in Nusantara Prima, Nusajaya which has been gazetted as part of the Government’s PR1MA initiative

There at 2 types of units are available in Nusantara Prima :

The most awaited housing scheme called the 1Malaysia Housing Programme (PRIMA) was finally launched yesterday by the Prime Minister at Putrajaya.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said 42,000 houses would be built in 20 strategic areas that had been identified in the Klang Valley and Seremban.
This programme is part of the government’s agenda to increase the quality of life of Malaysians and is in line with the 1Malaysia concept. The government are aware of the problems faced by middle-income earners who can’t afford expensive homes, but at the same time are not eligible for low-cost housing programmes.
PRIMA is specifically for Malaysians earning not more than RM6,000 monthly, be they in the government or private sector or self-employed.
The loans were up to 105 per cent and house buyers could apply from a selected list of financial institutions. The additional five per cent, would be for the insurance and legal fees.
The three-room and two bathroom homes under this programme cost between RM150,000 and RM300,000, depending on the location and size.
The homes will be built in Putrajaya, Cyberjaya, Ara Damansara (Petaling), Bandar Tun Razak (Cheras), Putra Heights (Subang Jaya), Bandar Bukit Raja (Klang), Kota Elmina (Sg Buloh), Sg Besi (Kuala Lumpur), Elmina East and Elmina West in Shah Alam, Lagong Mas (Rawang) , Bandar Ainsdale (Seremban) and Seremban Sentral.
The buyers could only sell their units after 10 years to avoid speculation.
About 1Malaysia Housing Programme Corporation
The 1Malaysia Housing Programme Corporation, would be set up to plan and coordinate the projects under the programme. The laws to govern the corporation were being formulated and would be tabled in the next Parliament sitting in October.
Later at a press conference, Economic Planning Unit director-general Datuk Noriyah Ahmad explained that the housing corporation would be modelled after Singapore’s Housing and Development Board that plans and develops public housing towns to provide Singaporeans with quality homes.
